Hard work and success go hand in hand. Isn’t it true.to be IAS is not an easy task .there are lots of stuff to do like preparing yourself for exams, interviews, serving your country etc.
Obstacles are those faithful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal (lines by henry ford)Those who have dreams and goals, have to keep faith in their capabilities. The first step towards success is to choose your goal and have strong determination.it is easy to dream but difficult to convert it into reality. For this you have to put great efforts, hard work, you should have patience and self-confidence.
If your decision is backed by an honest assessment of a positive aspect of your capacity or capability, then proceed towards your goal in the right direction and, believe me, no obstacle on the way can ever stop you on your path. It’s the fact sometimes you may have success but sometimes you may fail but it doesn’t mean you are a failure keep in mind to NEVER GIVE UP. Believe in yourself and be the best this time.
Starting in the right direction is by having the right selection of books. Choose the correct study material as this the first and most important part in IAS. You might have seen many candidates studying a lot which is hardly necessary. Therefore, don’t waste your energy. Take a decision on the basis of the nature of your Optional whether the extensive or intensive study is required. Always use authentic and dependable study material brought out by standard publishers. This will help you most.
You must be quite serious in the selection of your subjects. Some subjects are scoring and that the chances of success are then rated quite high. This is a wrong method of subject selection.

Subject-selection should be always based on your:

  1. Interest in the subject
  2. Availability of study material and
  3. Your ability to understand the nature of that subject
Preparation for civil Services requires right time-management. If there is something very valuable, it is ‘Time”. In the civil services exam it is a tool to success .it is an essential part.

Things to keep in mind:

  • Strategy to prepare must be effective and efficient.
  • Follow one step at one time but keep a broad sight while start preparing for Mains and Interview with Prelims.
  • Do not scared regarding negative marking in Prelims.
  • Time Management is very crucial.
  • Keep your self-confidence good while appearing for the Prelims and the Mains, then only you can attempt the Question Paper in a reasonably logical way. If your confidence is low this may cause a trouble for you making you confuse and you may forget your answers.
  • Prelims-it may be alright to answer objective questions on the basis of intelligent guesswork
  • Mains-logical and fact-based and to the point answer are desirable.
  • General Studies- if you do not know the answer to a particular question, it is risky to attempt it with guesswork or on the basis of wrong information.
  • Essay Pape- choose a proper topic you are more familiar with. Always be careful that it should contain not only factual or informative data but there should also be an analytical presentation.
  • Interview- keep in mind that no Training institute can improve your personality completely although some of these Institutes provide help through well-planned preparation.
